Dr Dur-e-shahwar syed famous literary personality


Dr Dur-e-shahwar syed was born on 28 march 1942 at sann district Jamshoro, sindh. She was the daughter of well known nationalist leader GM syed. She was educated in karachi. She did MA philosophy in 1969 from karachi University. On the wish of her father she went England in 1978 wherr she completed MA in history from saxon University. She got PhD degree from Edinburgh University in 1994. Her research work wad the poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. After returning to country she worked formerly as co operative teacher and later asst prog in Philosophy department Karachi University from 1991to 1996,she was the director of shah Abdul latif bhitai chair. His major work, during this tenure, was bibliography on Shah Abdul Latif. Her PhD research thesis was published by sindhi abadi board in 1988,its urdu translation was published in 1994 which was admired in all the four provinces of Pakistan. She received countless awards for her literary services such as: cash awards by Govt of sindh 1988,Dr earnest Turmp award, Latif Golf medal award 1989,Pir Hasan Udin Rashidi award by Sindh cultural council Karachi 1993,Sachal congress Board, Shah Latif Unity Sachal chair advisory board and member of sindh language governs body. She also founded All Sindh Women Association. She died on 26 december 1997 at Karachi and wad buried in her ancestral graveyard all village Sunn
